Substantial

Peace World. In memory of Jun, here’s my favorite song he produced, Ordinary Joe ft. Terry Callier. Such an awesome remake! Powerful message, with beautiful music. Jun’s flute solo, gets me every time.

“Each little bird in the sky, is just a little bit freer than I.”

Rest in Peace, brother. Thanks for the memories.

You’ve Felt It Your Entire Life

I posted a video of this movie (They Live) awhile back, sometime last year.
Now CEvolutinTV made a video with excerpt from the Matrix to go with the film They Live, I think it fits in well.

Here’s a post from last year on Nujabes.

My Conspiracy Theories

Happy Birthday Nujabes, one of the greatest of all time…Would be 38 I believe.

Great Music from Nujabes…I recommend his music for you. It’s peaceful, relaxing, and enjoyable.

Nujabes great songs: Beyond, Kumoni, Luv Sic Pt.1, Vem Para Ficar, Ordinary Joe, imaginary folklore, F.I.L.O., Spiritual State, At world’s end rhapsody, with rainy eyes, and Music is Mine. Please listen to them when you have time…very inspirational music.

BTW: Very good music to concentrate on homework.

Post Edit: Also J Dilla’s Bday, they were born on the same day…& Big Pun died on this day yrs ago.

~Peace~

“We Free The People With Music”-Bob Marley

Well, it’s better late than never to celebrate Bob Marley’s B-day with a couple of my favorite songs of the legendary Rastafarian, reggae musician, Bob Marley.
His music/lyrics keep inspiring and changing people all over the globe with his positive messages.
When I have felt bummed out I turn on some BM and you can feel the love in his music he left.

Top Rankin’ Lyrics
They don’t want to see us unite
All they want us to do is keep on fussing and fighting.
They don’t want to see us live together
All they want us to do is keep on killing one another.

Top rankin’, top rankin’:
Are you skankin’ (skankin’, skankin’)?
Are you skankin’ (skankin’, skankin’)?
Wo-ho, top rankin’ (top rankin’), ‘Ow, did you mean what you say now?
Are you – ‘ow are you (rankin’, rankin’) –
are ya – Lord, Lord, Lord! (skankin’, skankin’)?

They say the blood runs;
And it runs through our line,
And our hearts, heart of hearts divine, eh!
And John saw them comin’, ooh! – a-with the truth
From an ancient time.

The brotherly love (brotherly love), the sisterly love (sisterly love)
I feel this morning; I feel this morning:
Brotherly love (brotherly love), the sisterly love (sisterly love)
I feel this morning, this morning. Hey!

They don’t want us to unite:
All they want us to do is keep on fussing and fighting.
They don’t want to see us live together;
All they want us to do is keep on killing one another.

Top rankin’ (top rankin’)!
Did ya mean what you say now (top rankin’)?
Are you skankin’ (skankin’, skankin’)?
Are you skankin’ (skankin’, skankin’)?
Top rankin’ (top ranking),
Did you (top rankin’) mean what you say (top rankin’)?
Are you (rankin’, rankin)?
Are you (skankin’, skankin’)?
Top rankin’ (top rankin’)
Top rankin’ (top rankin’)
Are you (skankin’, skankin’)?
‘Ow are you (skankin’, skankin’)?

I’m Loving This Song

A Poem By Nick Drake’s Mother

Poem written by Nick Drake’s mother, recited by Nick Drake’s sister Gabrielle Drake.

The Shell (A Skin Too Few)

Living grows round us like a skin
to shut away the outer desolation
For if we clearly mark the furthest deep
we should be dead long years before the grave.
But turning around within the homely shell
of worry discontent and narrow joy
we grow and flourish and rarely see the
outside dark that would confound our eyes
some break the shell…
I think that there are those who push their
fingers through the brittle walls and
make a hole…and through this cruel
slit stare out across the cinders of the
world with naked eyes they look both out and in,
knowing themselves and too much else beside.

In case you don’t know who Nick Drake was.

Please beware of them that stare
They’ll only smile to see you while
Your time away
And once you’ve seen what they have been
To win the earth just won’t seem worth
Your night or your day
Who’ll hear what I say.
Look around you find the ground
Is not so far from where you are
Don´t too wise
For down below they never grow
They’re always tired and charms are hired
From out of their eyes
Never surprise.

Take your time and you’ll be fine
And say a prayer for people there
Who live on the floor
And if you see what’s meant to be
Don’t name the day or try to say
It happened before.

Don’t be shy you learn to fly
And see the sun when day is done
If only you see
Just what you are beneath a star
That came to stay one rainy day
In autumn for free
Yes, be what you’ll be.
Please beware of them that stare
They’ll only smile to see you while
Your time away
And once you’ve seen what they have been
To win the earth just won’t seem worth
Your night or your day
Who’ll hear what I say.

Open up the broken cup
Let goodly sin and sunshine in
Yes that’s today.
And open wide the hymns you hide
You find reknown while people frown
At things that you say
But say what you’ll say
About the farmers and the fun
And the things behind the sun
And the people round your head
Who say everything’s been said
And the movement in your brain
Sends you out into the rain.
